I have set up this blog, primarily as a personal diary to show my own interests in Photography, Travel, and the good things in life that a guy of my rapidly advancing years likes to do…. and… My daughter (Cath) remarked “you need to get yourself a ‘project’ Dad” so here we are…

I spent many years ‘on the tools’ before I went into teaching to pass on my own knowledge and experiences at my chosen Construction Craft here in the North-West of England, to a younger generation… be thankful… you’ve no idea of the feeling of being an aged Lecturer when you hear those immortal words “Hey Mal…. you taught my Dad”… however, I will definitely hang up the mantel, if I ever hear the words “Hey Mal… you taught my Granddad“…

Many of the images on this blog, are based on numerous visits with my wife (Ann) to our beloved Venice, but there are images of our home city of Liverpool, along with spattering’s of Florence, Australia and other travels. All images in my blog posts are ‘watermarked’ with my personal data. This makes them very easy to locate, if they happen to be used on other websites… without my permission.

Photography is a passion in my life, since my teens. I am a member of one of the oldest Photographic Societies in the world. The Liverpool Amateur Photographic Association was founded in 1853, and in 1954 merged with the new South Liverpool Photographic Society. the rest is indeed history…..

My main joys in the Photography fields are; Nature & Natural History…. Birding… Fauna & Flora… Macro… but my real passion lies in the specialist imagery of Infra-red Photography, which I tried as a young man in my ‘film‘ & ‘dark-room’ days, and have carried on to embrace the genre in the digital age…
