The Chung Ku Chinese Restaurant

Because Ann & I, went to Bassenthwaite/Keswick, last weekend, for my 60th Birthday, our Cath, booked us a table at my favourite Chinese Restaurant, situated down on the River…  The Chung Ku Chinese Restaurant.

We have eaten here so many times, over the years, and always come away, with a feeling of something ‘special’ stuffed to the rafters… lol. We opted for banquet ‘B’ which started with ‘Sweet-corn soup, moved on to Chinese starters with prawn puffs, spring rolls, satay chicken, steamed dumplings and crispy seaweed…  then a following course of Duck and Pancakes…. the main dishes, were chicken and cashew… sweet & sour pork, and a fantastic Cantonese style beef, all with yung-chow fried rice… all-in-all just FANTASTIC !!!

A surprise…. during the meal, a waiter produced a balloon which was tied to my chair… to denote it was my 60th birthday bash… However, I didn’t expect the playing of ‘Happy Birthday’ and the little ice cream scoop, in a glass dish arriving at the table with a lit candle in the middle…lol.
