Silver-surfing Southport’s charity shops

Southport’s shopping street (Lord Street)

The light levels this weekend, were really strong, so Ann & I decided to go to Southport. We took a bus into the city centre, and then boarded a local train to Southport, which is north of the city of Liverpool.

We had planned to visit the town’s charity shops. as I was interested to see if they would have any interesting additions, to my own ‘Venetian’ glass collection, but to tell the truth, what a load of ‘old tat’ lol.

We walked from one end of Lord Street to the other, and found, although we had not visited Southport in a while… every other shop, seemed to be either a closing down sale…. cafe, or charity shop… I suppose this is the modern face of the UK as a whole these days… what a shame !!!

Lord Street

After we had walked the length of the Victorian covered shops… we bought a well deserved Italian Style, ice-cream… made our way back to the train station… and home… cant say I’ll be repeating the experience any time soon…lol
