The Best Western & Castle Inn / Keswick

Once again we travelled up to what is definitely our favourite Lakeland Hotel, the Castle Inn / Keswick. as ‘gold’ card members, we were given a suite, rather than a standard double room… and we were once again, not disappointed. Although we have had other suites within the hotel, this one (room 32) was really good. with its four poster bed, large bathroom, and raised TV area.

Our first night we settled in to our room…. went for a swim in the pool, and a relax in the Sauna & Steam room, before having our evening meal in the bar, rather than the restaurant… Fish & chips for me… braised steak for Ann… great !!! after our meal, Ann took a bath, then we hunkered down to watch a film…lol.

As we were watching, our film… there was suddenly a load of banging outside… It turned out that the next hotel up the Lakeside, was holding a wedding, and they were having a firework display to end the night… ann & I, turned the TV off, switched all the lights off, and watched the fireworks out of our picture windows… a really nice ‘extra’….
