The Castle Inn / Bassenthwaite near Keswick
One again, we found our way to our favourite hotel in the Northern Lakedistrict… at the North end of Bassenthwaite lake. Unlike our usual stays, over a long weekend, this time I took a week off work, and we travelled up on the Sunday, to stay until the following Thursday… again, unlike our usual stays, this was ‘In-Season’ visit, and the hotel was full of coach parties, who would stay half-board, before boarding their coaches for a daily excursion of the Lakes…
As the hotel restaurant, was quite full, we decided to go into Keswick for our evening meal… we had long promised ourselves to have a meal in one of the Chinese restaurants, which was had visited some years ago, but as it gets dark on our usual visits, around 5-6 pm…. the evening light was conducive for a visit….
We both had chicken and sweetcorn soup, followed by Ann having chicken and peppers, and myself having crispy beef in OK sauce… we were both ‘stuffed’… and so, after a superb meal… and as it was still light (now about 9:00.pm)… we walked down to Keswick’s Hope Park on the way to the Lakeside, to simply sit… chill, and enjoy the sunset over the mountains… a really great opening evening…
Getting better with this ‘Selfie’ lark… but with my Lumix TZ90 camera
