The leaving of Liverpool…

The Queen Elizabeth docked at Liverpool waterfront

A while ago, Ann and I booked a holiday, on the Isle of Man… we had been there a couple of years, previous and we made ourselves a promise then to re-visit the island at some time in the future. This trip was to fulfil that promise, and include some research for Everton Cemetery, of which regular readers to my blog will know… I am the cemetery historian.

After booking in the the Manx Ferry baggage deposit, and making our way to the departure lounge, we waited for the call to board, and made our way up to the ship… we had remembered to pre-book seats in the Premium Lounge, for a quiet crossing, which has waitress service and a private viewing deck…

Leaving the port…

The Iron Men at Crosby

It was a quiet crossing, and very relaxed, and when arrived at Douglas Port… it was raining… we gathered our baggage, put money on our ‘Go’ cards, to take us on all forms of public transport on the Island for the week, from the Manx Tourist Information at the port, before setting off to our hotel via a taxi… What would the week bring us ???
