My-IR about

I purchased my first camera, in the mid 1970’s, and have explored most photographic genre’s through my 45+ years, as a true ‘hobbyist‘ . I started my Infrared journey, in the late 1970’s, using the Pentax range of SLR’s, and rolls of either Ilford SFX or Kodak HIE film, which I developed in my darkroom… it is these early years, which really produced my love of the Monochromatic format, which has stayed with me up to this day. In saying this, I still occasionally do colour work, but 90%+ of my Infrared work is B&W.

After a full working life, in the construction industry, I turned to teaching, some 20 years ago in the Further Education sector, passing on my craft skills to a younger generation. As a Senior Lecturer, I have come across many programmes and strategies over the years, to help learners, form a deeper understanding, of subjects, with the use of Information Learning Technologies, and this is used to its full potential, in my Presentations. (see my-ir ‘talks’ page)

I am now fully-retired, and as such have more time to offer my Infrared Photography Presentations to a wider audience of Photographic Clubs and Societies.
