Croxteth Country Park

Croxteth Hall

It’s at that ‘golden‘ hour in the day… the last hour of sunlight, as the sun is about to set, that photographers of note, like to take images… the shadow cast is long, and the light takes on an unreal tint. This of course is when I like to do my colour Infrared images.

So I took Elle out for a late evening walk, Ann joined us, and we walked a circuit of Croxteth Country Park. At the center of the Park, lies Croxteth Hall… a large imposing place, The Molyneux Family (Lords of Sefton) no longer live at the Hall, however, the Hall has been kept largely as it was in its heyday, large bedrooms, function rooms and billiard room along with the servant quarters and kitchens. Guided tours of the Hall are available, as well as hiring the fuction rooms for weddings etc.

As the Country Park is only a matter of 10 minutes in the car from our house, you can see it is a favourite for all the family…

Tonight was one of those special light evenings, but coupled with this… it allowed me to test out one of my favourite all-rounder Full Spectrum cameras… When in Venice last… I managed to splash water on the camera, and I was gutted when the electrics shorted, and the Live View Finder failed… so I had quite a long wait, for Ebay to come up with a broken model, which matched my own… so I could rip it apart in order to replace the LVF and one of the electronic mother boards… Jobs now done, and all is well again lol… That will teach me to be more careful in future, forays abroad…
