Paul Gallagher

Well that’s it…. the deed is done !!! I have booked myself onto a weekend Photography Course, run by Aspect2, and leading the presentation is the founder… Paul Gallagher.

Paul, is one of this Country’s and indeed in my opinion, one the World’s leaders in Colour AND Black & White Landscape photography… as an added bonus, Paul also produces some fantastic Infrared Landscapes, and it will be interesting to gain an insight into what motivates his art…

The Course I will be attending, is a Masterclass on Black & White imagery. If I pick up just a couple of new techniques or tips to inspire me and open new doors in photography terms… the course will have been well worth the time and effort, as many of you know…. My ‘Malspond.com‘ statement written on my card… states… “Better Photography through Education“… and I’m certainly open for some education myself, especially from a Photographer I personally admire… there are few people I admire enough to buy their published books as non-reference books… however, Paul is definitely one of them.

Many photographers, get their old cameras, converted to Infrared, then ‘play around‘ with the format, without educating themselves into what is… a totally new concept (to them). Paul has incorporated B&W Infrared, into his own specialised art form, and produces a superb set of exemplars to wet the appetite for more of the same… with a bit of luck I’ll get him to showcase some of his own work on the course… although… Paul does run I.R. courses, but due to my own teaching commitments, I’ve not had a chance to sit in one yet… However, this B&W course should be great as well, as it merges into my own I.R. work.
