A few days in the Neath Valley

When I can, I visit my brother Steve, and his wife Jen, in the Neath Valley/South Wales. In their younger days, they bought a run-down and derelict farm cottage in the valley, and over the course of some years, renovated it, to what it is now.

On my visits, and when the weather is good for I.R. photography, I like to get out with my cameras (which is not that often lol)… A favourite venue is Craig-y-Nos Country Park, in the Brecon Beacons. which has some stunning I.R. imagery for me, if you look past the visible light spectrum.

‘Craig-y-Nos Castle’

It took 5 visits to this spot, throughout the day, to get the sun in the right position for the shot, this image has been printed in A3 format, in order to give to the pub manager at the ‘Ancient Britain‘ public house up the road, a copy to hang in the pub. Whilst I was walking back to the car after the shoot, I happened to glance up… a quick change of filter and camera settings produced the image below… sometimes, simplicity is everything !

‘Fly me to the moon’

On another fine day in the Valley, it produced some other good shots during a drive around the local roads, stopping where the mood took me, or during a walk…
