Best Western (Keswick)

Best Western plus Castle Inn (Keswick)

Ann & I, over many years, have stayed in Guest Houses, Hotels and Cottages, all over the Lake District (Cumbria), and have had some great experiences, along with a few not so good, but all in all, we have spent a lot of time here in the Lakes, with Cath, who loves the area as much as us… However, I have to say, over the recent past, we have now migrated our stays, from the southern lakes… and up to the Northern Lakes around the Keswick area.

It is to this end that we have stayed at the hotel above… as a ‘Best Western Hotel’. we have found it to be exceptional, in its staff and facilities. After a day in the ‘field’ so to speak, its nice to come back to a hotel, and have a swim in the indoor pool, or exercise in the Gym… not that its ever seen me or Ann, but the pool, steam room, and sauna is so relaxing after a hard day photographing… lol.

Then onto the bar or restaurant… The bar meals and ‘specials’ board are superb, and you can get a great meal with wine for around £25 per head. then either sit in the spacious lounge areas, or retire to your room to watch a bit of TV before bed…

Ann and I, cant fault this hotel, its quiet and out of the way, and situated at the top end of Bassenthwaite Lake, about 15 minutes outside of Keswick by car… if you want out of the tourist routes, but close enough to motorways and the Northern Lakes, then the Best Western plus Castle Inn is the place for you….
