My favourite, style of glass… AVeM ‘Tutti-Frutti’

Just taken delivery today, of an absolutely stunning and massive, A1 collectors piece of Murano late 1950’s or early 1960’s AVeM glass in the style of ‘Tutti-Frutti’. As many of you know, I started my love affair with Venice, in 1979, when back-packing around Europe on an Inter-European Rail Ticket, staying at youth hostels along the way. The first time I came to Venice, I booked a ‘couchette’ (sleeping carriage) from Innsbruck/Austria… arriving in Venice the following morning… and the love affair began…. Ann & I have been to Venice, many times since…

Ever since those early days, I have been buying Venetian glass, either on the Islands of Venice, or bussing (on the water busses) it over to the Island of Murano, and its glass furnaces. which of course date back over hundreds of years.

Of course, I now buy many of my pieces, on Ebay, as well as on Venice, as I can  choose the styles and era’s of glass I prefer. many of my favourite pieces are from the 1950’s and 60’s… but some are older, and some are newer… however, all are a passion !!!
