A day in Grasmere

Ullock Pike

Today, was the last full day of our Lake District break, so we decided to head over to Grasmere Villiage… The last time we were here, there was torrential rain… and we spent the whole time sheltering in one cafe or another… anything to get out of the rain… lol.

Today’s, weather was a marked improvement… after parking up we walked around to the church (St. Oswald’s), and at a cafe by the river ‘Rothay’ overlooking St. Oswald’s… however from our last visit, we noticed that signs had gone up, asking customers not to feed the jackdaws… as they were getting aggressive. We did see the jackdaws perching on the railings ‘eyeing’ up the customers food, and although no one was actually feeding the birds… the moment customers got up to leave… the jackdaws would swoop and pick the table and floor clean… a definite nuisance…

After coffee… we made our way through the village, and onto a bridge over another part of the rivers contributaries (Sour Milk Gill)… we had visited this spot, a few years earlier, and I wanted to get a few images, I wanted from that last time… unfortunately the light was not the best, so I think another visit is needed at some time in the future to get the best shot available… anyway, the images below are the best of what was available on the day…
