A Visit to Ness Gardens

Ann & Cath

On Friday 31st October, I looked out of the bedroom window, early in the morning to find the light levels fantastic for a day out in Ness Gardens, on the Wirral. Cath, had mentioned earlier in the summer about going to one of the structured gardens of Cheshire… and so looking at the weather forcast… Friday looked the best day… and in fact it was… so we set off early, in my car, and ventured of the new Mersey Gateway Bridge heading for Ness.

Ness Gardens, is the horticultural, arm of Liverpool University, and as such, is so well planted and laid out to be one of the most outstanding garden areas in the region… and such a great day weather-wise was to add to the whole day, which started with breakfast in the centre cafe. Ann had tea and toast, but Cath & I had something a bit more substantial, only Cath’s was the ‘veggie’ option lol.

There is loads of seating in the gardens, whether it be formal benches, of ad-hock deckchairs to simply sit and enjoy the views which the garden has to offer. The water gardens were especially fine, since we were last here a few years ago. On that visit, Ann’s mother and father were with us at the gardens, but as time passed, Les, her Dad is no longer here…

Some great IR shots to be had…

I wanted to get Cath used to one of the camera’s I was using, as it is her 30th Birthday soon. ans as it is a ‘special’ birthday, Ann and I plan to get her a ‘special’ camera, to take with her when she travels the world, later next year… I think she did well for a first little go of the camera…

Cath’s shots…

  1. Thank you once again Mal for sharing your outing, that’s my kind of outing! Photos are lovely, seems like Cathy will follow in your footsteps with taking photos.
