Marina Grande

Steps down to Marina Grande…

When we had been to Sorrento last year, one of the things we had missed out on, was a visit to the smallest of the three Marina’s in Sorrento… Although the smallest… this Marina is named ‘Grande’, and it is where the best seafood restaurants in the town are located. Knowing my passion for all things seafood related… it was a MUST visit for this years trip, and so we found ourselves down at the Marina and perusing the array of restaurants…

Our starters… Mussels for me and Bruchette for Ann…

We chose our bay-side cafe/restaurant and ordered from the menu… I chose a litre of the house red to have with the meal, and I must admit it was a really nice ‘cellar-door’ wine which was quite smooth for what it was… a managed to down it though lol.

Main Main….

Ann had a chicke salad, as her main… but I had to try the seafood risotto… and what a superb meal it was, which complemented the starter so well… we didn’t manage a sweet… and I was content to finish the wine, whilst we both watched the world go by and chilled…

After our lunch… we walked up the back roads, of the Marina… a gentle walk, but much longer than the steps down, as this is the way the traffic enters the Marina… However, we took a shortcut… and as you guess…. ended up quite a way out…lol.

The shortcut… lol

After we had made our way back into the town… we went to the ice-cream parlour in the middle of the old town… last year, when we went to the parlour, it was closed… so like the Marina Grande, a visit this year was also a MUST… but all-in-all a superb day… where we ate our way around the town…. phew !!!
