The ‘old’ town


Sorrento ‘old’ town… main street.

As it was our first morning, after arriving at our hotel the day before, after breakfast, we decided to catch the hotel shuttle-bus down to the old town, and reacquaint ourselves wit the ‘Foreigners Bar’ … this was a bar/cafe, down on the cliff face, and above the road down to the main marina, where you can catch boat tours around the coast. The Foreigners Bar is also a tourist information and arts centre… as well as a free public loo…lol

This bar is a MUST if you are visiting Sorrento, and such a nice way to start the day, with a coffee and water… (lunches are available) before setting off to explore the town… Today, we went to visit the old mill, in the disused cleft of the cliff… which can be seen from the centre of the town, but no longer accessible, except with special permission, and even then, climbing gear needs to be used…
