Lister Drive…

Feeding time on the park lake

Today, I wanted to check out Lister Drive Swimming Baths (as was)… what do you do when you have an old swimming baths, which is grade 2 listed? what possible use can be made of, for such a structure… as this?

The old Lister Drive Swimming Baths

A number of years ago, the new owners took over and turned it into a fisheries and pet shop outlet… and it seems to have worked really well over the years… I bought my original large moulded pond there, and after all these years, it still gives myself and the family a lot of pleasure, with its fish, planting etc…

The main pool. boarded over to make a shop floor

Although, we wanted to see if there was anything to add to our cold tank, or pond… nothing really grabbed me in particular, so we left empty handed, jumped back in the car, and made the short journey down the road to Newsham Park… Funnily enough, Ann spotted the person in the water first… but on closer inspection…

Someone in the boating lake ???

Well it makes a great nest platform…lol

We parked up and had a stroll around the the main lake, where all the lads fish… and stopped at the cafe to have a cuppa, in the warm sunlight… it was a real struggle to get up after our tea, it was so pleasant, on this lovely day… but Ann needed to go around to her mum’s to sort out her recently broken wrist, so go we had to…

Now there’s a piece of Liverpool History for another day…
